App can't connect

If you are using a new Samsung Galaxy running Android 16 and one UI 8, we have been seeing some connection bugs. Can you try to connect, verify and update the firmware on your bear using an older device or any iOS device? This will fix the issue and you will be able to use any device after that.

IF you are not running that configuration, this may fix your issue…

If you manually connected your classic bluetooth to the bear before you launched the app. This causes an issue with some devices when, since it has connected to one type of bluetooth it locks out the ability to connect to any other types. It seems like your Classic Bluetooth is set up to auto pair to known devices and it is interfering with the BLE that is used to validate your bear. Is the bear connecting automatically? If it is, you have not forgotten or unpaired your device from the bear (only disconnected). What device are you using? Make and software version?

Please follow these steps. It solves 99% of the connection issues.

  1. Delete the app

  2. Forget or unpair all instances of Poe AI Bear in your devices Library. Do not simply disconnect.

  3. Reinstall the app but do not launch it.

  4. Turn on your bear. The ear should be blinking Blue. If the ears turn solid green and blue you have not completely forgotten the connection and may need to delete the app cache or your browser’s cache.

  5. Launch the app and let the bear auto connect to BLE (the ear will flash rapidly and turn solid blue). This should validate your bear. Set up your profile.

  6. Now you can go into your device’s bluetooth settings and connect to Poe Story Bear. Do not disconnect from 1DRPWBA. This is BLE and needs to remain on to transfer stories.
